Troubles

Visiting Church on the Bay this week i was encouraged by this community and their passion for mission and serving others. They are constantly sending member to the mission field and many are drawn to the call of Jesus on their life to go into the world. I was very inspired by them as we discussed the impact of troubles in our life.

We are either coming out of trouble, going into trouble or we are in trouble. It’s part of our life journey. Thankfully we have our faith to give our peace. Listen to Job…

“Our suffering isn’t caused by the failure of crops; it’s all part of life, like sparks shooting skyward.”  Job 5:6-7

James helps us understand that there are some things we can do…

“My friends, be glad, even if you have a lot of trouble. You know you learn to endure by having your faith tested. But you must learn to endure everything, so you will be completely mature and not lacking in anything. If any of you need wisdom, you should ask God, and it will be given to you. God is generous and won’t correct you for asking. But when you ask for something, you must have faith and not doubt. Anyone who doubts is like an ocean wave tossed around in a storm. If you are that kind of person, you can’t make up your mind, and you surely can’t be trusted. So don’t expect the Lord to give you anything at all.” James‬ ‭1:2-8‬ ‭

So sharpen your axe. A blunt axe will not cut. It’s more important than being busy. Getting results comes from the right tools and tools that work as they should.

Tools for overcoming trouble –

1. Joy (in Jesus) God has a purpose for my life
2. Knowledge and Understanding
3. I can ask God for help
4. A will to submit
5. A heart to believe

Peace to you today!
